Reserve Transfer

For students exiting Alamance Community College prior to earning the Associate’s Degree, our Reverse Transfer process could help you earn the credential even after leaving our campus. Reverse Transfer is the process of awarding an Associate’s Degree for completing part of your degree requirements at ACC and any remaining degree requirements at a participating college or university in North Carolina.

When combined, your credits completed at ACC and your eligible credits transferred from your university could meet the degree and graduation requirements, thereby letting Alamance Community College award you another degree!

Eligibility

  • The State of North Carolina and participating universities send us data twice each year (in approximately February and July). We will evaluate your earned credits for the possibility of awarding the Associate's Degree until you have earned 90 semester hours. Your information may be sent to us multiple times for evaluation and we may contact you for additional information.
  • You have to "opt-in" with your college or university to participate in this automated Reverse Transfer initiative, so carefully monitor your college/university email account for this invitation to “opt-in” or check with an admissions counselor at your college/university for specific instructions.
  • The ACC Registrar’s Office will contact you to confirm completion of the Associate’s Degree requirements and provide you with next steps. Pending completion, you earn your Associate’s Degree, including an invitation to participate in the next Commencement Ceremony!

  • Alternatively, students can initiate the Reverse Transfer process independently. Upon completion of outstanding credits required for the Associate’s Degree, students can:
  • Request an official college/university transcript be sent to the ACC Records Office
  • Email Registrar@alamancecc.edu to alert us that you have completed outstanding credit requirements, submitted an official transcript, and are pursuing your Associate’s Degree through the Reverse Transfer process.
  • Earn your Associate’s Degree, including an invitation to participate in the next Commencement Ceremony!
