Welcome to the Office of Human Resources at Alamance Community College.
Our mission is to provide the highest level of service in administering effective policies and practices to recruit, employ, develop and retain the most qualified employees who actively support the College’s mission. Human Resources provides leadership in the development, implementation, and equitable administration of sound human resource policies, procedures and practices.
The Human Resources Department also manages the College’s benefits programs, helps to provide training and professional development opportunities for employees, promotes a positive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment, and ensures compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.

State Health Plan of North Carolina (Health Insurance)
The State Health Plan of North Carolina is the provider for eligible employees’ health insurance coverage. Annual enrollment occurs in fall for January 1 effective coverage date. The effective date of coverage for new hires is the first day of the month FOLLOWING the hire date (examples: If employee is hired January 1, effective date of health insurance coverage is February 1. If employee is hired January 31, effective date of health insurance coverage is February 1). Contact Human Resources for more information.
Employee Assistance Counseling Program (EACP)
If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, family problems, substance abuse, grief, burnout, financial stress, or any other life stressor, this resource is available to you at no cost as an ACC Employee. It is confidential and voluntary. There is no arbitrary limit to the number of sessions with the experienced and licensed clinical staff.
Teachers’ & State Employees’ Retirement System
All permanent employees who work at least 3/4-time (.75 FTE) are required to be members of the Teacher’s & State Employees’ Retirement System. Six percent of the employee’s annual salary is contributed into this system. Enrollment is immediate and automatic upon an employee’s hire date.
Flexible Spending Account
Employees can place pre-tax monies into accounts to pay for health care and/or dependent care expenses not covered under any other plan.
Dental Insurance is a voluntary benefit and is provided by SunLife Financial. The College pays the monthly premium for all eligible employees. Annual enrollment is held in October for a January 1 effective date.
Vision insurance is a voluntary benefit and is provided by Superior Vision.
Supplemental Retirement Providers
As a benefit to full-time regular and part-time regular employees, ACC offers payroll deduction for your investments to several voluntary supplemental retirement providers, including Prudential 401(k) & 457, Fidelity Investments 403(B), and TIAA-CREF 403(B).
