North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall Visits Alamance Community College for Community Roundtable Discussion
GRAHAM, N.C. — Alamance Community College welcomed North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine F. Marshall today for a roundtable discussion with local elected officials, community leaders, and business community members.
Held at the Biotechnology Center of Excellence on ACC's campus, the event allowed Secretary Marshall to hear directly from leaders across Alamance County about the region's strengths, opportunities, and challenges. The discussion focused on issues affecting local businesses, economic development, workforce needs, and the community's continued growth.
"Since the mid-2020s, we've been seeing a historic increase in business creation. The fact that this new era of homegrown entrepreneurship took root during the most challenging times we've faced, personally and as a business, says a lot about North Carolina's spirit of innovation," said Elaine Marshall, North Carolina's Secretary of State. "I appreciate the challenges that small businesses face every day because I've been there."
The roundtable underscored Alamance Community College's ongoing commitment to serving as a convening space for community engagement, economic development, and workforce advancement.
"Here at Alamance Community College, we work every day to connect our community to the workforce," said Dr. Ken Ingle, President of Alamance Community College. "There could not be a better place to have today's conversation. I am incredibly proud of our Small Business Center and the work that they do every day to support businesses and business development within our community."
