HRD COMPUTER CLASSES
Empower Your Tech Skills at Alamance Community College. From mastering the basics to becoming an expert in software applications, our computer classes cover it all.
Join us to enhance your proficiency in various software and technology domains, whether you're a beginner or aiming to get certified.
GUIDELINES
HRD courses are FREE to those who meet any one of the following four criteria:
- You are currently unemployed
- You have received notification of a pending layoff
- You are working and eligible for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit
- You are working and earn wages at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines
This course is for those with little to no knowledge of computers and internet technology. Included is an overview of basic computer concepts, uses of hardware (equipment), software (OS and applications), tools and command. At the end of the course students will be knowledgeable of operating a computer (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, desktop), will have a personal Gmail Email account for exclusive use with this course and related ACC computer courses.

This includes Gmail Email basics, your digital footprint, smartphone basics (IPhone & Android), and touch-typing.

This course provides the necessary basic computer employability skills for adults who are unemployed, underemployed, or facing a career transition. Learn the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; plus Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
