ABOUT US
Founded in 1983, the mission of the Alamance Community College Foundation is to aid students with a demonstrated financial need in reaching their educational goals, while supporting the mission of ACC.
The ACCF Board and Staff raise funds for:
FINANCIAL AID
- Student scholarships including curriculum, workforce development, high school merit, and high school student book scholarships. Other scholarship programs including high school equivalency gift certificates for a free class, the ACC Promise Program and Parent Promise Program scholarships. In the most recent year, nearly $800,000 was spent on student scholarships.
- Other forms of student aid such as college work study wages, student distress, childcare and transportation assistance for students, and support for the student ambassador leadership development program. In the most recent year, over $125,000 was spend on other forms of student aid.
- Between student scholarships and other forms of financial aid, approximately 1,000 students per year receive aid from generous donors to attend college.
PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT
- Innovation grants for faculty and staff
- Funds to support the ACC strategic plan, professional development support for faculty and staff and recognition of excellence in service.
- In the most recent year, nearly $120,000 was provided to the college in these areas.
STEWARDSHIP
- The ACC Foundation also raises and stewards funds for special equipment or capital campaigns.
- Supports and stewards external grants, and maintains and augments restricted funds for specific ACC programs.
- In the most recent year, nearly $900,000 was provided to the college for these initiatives.

During 2023 - 2024, over 900 students received financial assistance from the ACC Foundation: 1
- 270 (326) low-income students received Foundation Scholarships, which are funded through unrestricted donations.
- 595 (432) students received named scholarships. Nearly all of these scholarships target low income students.
- 5 (2) ACC High School Equivalency or Adult High School graduates took advantage of the Foundation’s gift to them of a voucher toward a free college level class.
- 7 (7) Alamance County high school graduates received academic-based scholarships from the Foundation.
- 54 (42) students received Foundation student distress funds to tide them over in the face of a one-time emergency situation that would have prevented them from graduating.
- 12 (11) students served as Student Ambassadors.
- 11 (11) Faculty/Staff Grants were funded through unrestricted donations to support innovative ideas not traditionally funded by other resources.
Hundreds more students benefited from training received by ACC instructors and staff funded through the ACC Foundation.
