ADVANCED LAB TECHNIQUES

DIPLOMA

Graduates of the Advanced Laboratory Techniques Certificate may find employment as lab technicians performing suchduties as media preparation and sterilization, culture maintenance, and quality control and quality assurance. This diplomais designed for students with other college coursework looking to enhance their technical skills in the sciences.

The Advanced Laboratory Techniques program is an integral part of the Biotechnology program, designed to equip students with advanced technical skills required for various roles in laboratory settings. Graduates of this program will be well-prepared to work as lab technicians, specializing in critical tasks such as media preparation and sterilization, culture maintenance, and quality control and quality assurance. This program is particularly suitable for individuals with prior college coursework in the sciences, offering them the opportunity to further enhance their expertise and gain a competitive edge in the biotechnology field.

It is the mission of the Biotechnology & Biosciences Department to educate and train students in preparation for a career in the life sciences and biotechnology industries, by providing a hands-on, inquiry based learning environment, creating real-world learning opportunities coupled with career coaching and mentoring.
