ASSOCIATE IN FINE ARTS - VISUAL ARTS

UNIVERSITY TRANSFER

The Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) in Visual Arts program offers strong foundational instruction with an emphasis on visual literacy, technical skills, observation, critical thinking, and creative expression for those planning to pursue a major of study in the arts at the four-year level.

This program requires 60 credit hours. It gives  students the opportunity to take a wide variety of required transferable courses appropriate to all fields. All students must complete at least 31 hours from the Universal General Education Transfer Component list of courses.

 

In order to complete the Associate in Science degree at Alamance Community College, students must earn 60 hours of college credit in the categories listed in the table. All students must complete at least 34 hours from the Universal General Education Transfer Component list of courses. As part of their degree, students are required to complete 32 credit hours of math, science or computer courses in the categories listed in the table, as well as an academic transition course.

  1. Once you become an ACC student, meet with an ACC Academic Advisor and discuss your long-term goals.
  2. Connect with the transfer institution of your choice, and familiarize yourself with their transfer requirements.
  3. Keep your grades up and make sure to use ACC's Transfer Guidebook to help you be successful.
