Did you know that pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the U.S.?
The course is designed to help adults with little or no experience in pickleball learn the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to play the game effectively.
Over four 2-hour sessions, participants will cover:
- Serves: How to serve accurately and effectively.
- Return of Serves: Techniques for returning serves with control.
- Ground Strokes: Mastering forehand and backhand strokes.
- Volleying: Developing the ability to hit the ball in mid-air before it bounces.
- Dinks: Learning the soft, controlled shots used to maintain rallies close to the net.
- Rules and Scoring: Understanding the basic rules and how to keep score.
- Strategy: Tactics for playing both doubles and singles matches.
- Court Layout: Familiarization with the dimensions and zones of a pickleball court.
- Court Etiquette: Proper behavior and conduct while playing.
- Court Safety: Best practices to avoid injury and ensure safe play.
- Pickleball Equipment: Overview of the necessary gear and how to choose it.
- Exercises: Helpful exercises to improve your pickleball game.
- Local Play Opportunities: Information on where to play, including open play and league opportunities in the area.
