ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED SCIENCE | DIPLOMA | CERTIFICATE
The Horticulture Technology program at Alamance Community College offers courses that provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the green industry. It is a unique program designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of horticultural practices through a hands-on approach.
The program offers a variety of courses which cover the broad range of subject matter within the discipline of Horticulture. Some of the course topics are as follows: applied plant science, plant identification, propagation, greenhouse operations, arboriculture, landscape irrigation, sales, marketing, landscape design, construction and management.
Associate in General Education: Horticulture Production Systems and Entrepreneurship and Landscape Design, Gardens and Urban Environments
This curriculum is designed for the academic enrichments of students who wish to broaden their education, with an emphasis in horticulture. This program is intended for students who are specifically interested in pursuing a four-year Horticultural Science degree at North Carolina State University. This program is part of an articulation agreement between Alamance Community College and the Horticultural Science Department at North Carolina State University. Course work includes study in the areas of horticulture, natural sciences, humanities and fine arts, social and behavioral sciences, and English composition.

Associate in General Education: Plant Breeding and Biotechnology in Horticulture

Graduates emerge with a comprehensive understanding of breeding techniques, genetics, and cutting-edge biotechnological applications that are crucial in the field of horticulture.
