Elizabeth “Libba” Thomas has joined Alamance Community College (ACC) as its new Vice President of Business and Finance/Chief Financial Officer, effective July 1. She fills the position vacated by the retirement of Andrea Rollins.
Thomas is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management. She has a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. Thomas also studied Accounting at East Carolina University.
Thomas has nearly 30 years of experience in business and finance. She comes to ACC from Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC, where she was employed as CFO since 2012. Prior employment and experience includes three years with the North Carolina Community College System in Raleigh as Subject Matter Expert - Student and Finance, where she assisted all community colleges with the Colleague student and finance software systems. She was previously Stand Funds Accountant at Beaufort County Community College and Business Analyst at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Thomas has been a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) conferred by the Institute of Management Accountants since 1995.
