Alamance Community College (ACC) has launched the Parent Promise initiative, a new program aimed at offering accessible higher education opportunities for parents and guardians of students enrolled in the Career & College Promise (CCP) at Alamance Community College. Through Parent Promise, eligible parents and guardians can take one free class per semester at ACC, valued up to $505, with the additional benefit of a $250 credit toward books and supplies. Participants can choose from either curriculum courses or workforce development classes, making this opportunity a powerful new pathway for career advancement and personal development.
This new initiative reinforces ACC’s commitment to strengthening families and communities by supporting lifelong learning and economic development. By empowering parents to pursue education and new skills, ACC is creating new possibilities for families throughout Alamance County and advancing its mission to expand access to higher education.

Cecilia Holden, President and CEO of myFutureNC, who leads the state's “2 Million by 2030” initiative expressed her support for Parent Promise: “To meet North Carolina's educational attainment goal of having 2 million North Carolinians ages 25 to 44 hold a college degree or credential by 2030, we need more programs like Parent Promise. myFutureNC is excited to partner with Alamance Community College on this innovative approach.
