(September 25, 2023) – Alamance Community College (ACC) has announced the launch of a one-year Practical Nursing Program, designed to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals. This one-year program will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary to excel in the healthcare industry.
“As healthcare remains a cornerstone of our community, we have recognized the need for highly trained and compassionate professionals to serve our region. The Practical Nursing Program is a testament to our commitment to addressing this critical need,” said Darlene Listopad, Department Head of Nursing at ACC.
Among the key components of the new Practical Nursing program are:
Comprehensive Curriculum: The program offers a comprehensive curriculum covering essential nursing skills, patient care, pharmacology, and more, ensuring that graduates are well prepared for their careers.
Hands-On Experience: Practical experience is integral to the program, allowing students to develop their clinical skills in real healthcare settings under the guidance of experienced instructors.
One-Year Duration: ACC’s Practical Nursing Program is designed to be completed in just one year, enabling students to fast-track their careers and enter the workforce sooner.
Strong Career Prospects: Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN® exam, the first step towards becoming licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and embarking on a rewarding healthcare journey.
“We are excited to offer this program as a vital contribution to the healthcare community,” said Listopad. “Our goal is to empower students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in healthcare careers that are both fulfilling and in high demand.”
