This program offers a unique blend of benefits. This specialized program not only equips students with a broad educational foundation but also hones their expertise in the fields of horticulture and landscape design. Graduates possess a comprehensive understanding of plant cultivation, landscape planning, and urban environmental considerations, making them well-prepared for a range of careers in the green industry.

Additionally, the entrepreneurial aspect of the program fosters business acumen, enabling students to pursue entrepreneurial ventures or take on leadership roles within established horticultural enterprises. 

 

The Horticulture Associate in General Education curriculum is designed for the academic enrichments of students who wish to broaden their education, with an emphasis in horticulture. This program is intended for students who are specifically interested in pursuing a four-year Horticultural Science degree at North Carolina State University. This program is part of an articulation agreement between Alamance Community College and the Horticultural Science Department at North Carolina State University.  Course work includes study in the areas of horticulture, natural sciences, humanities and fine arts, social and behavioral sciences, and English composition. 

  1. Once you become an ACC student, meet with an ACC Academic Advisor and discuss your long-term goals.
  2. Connect with the transfer institution of your choice, and familiarize yourself with their transfer requirements.
  3. Keep your grades up and make sure to use ACC's Transfer Guidebook to help you be successful.
