Embarking on a Radiography Certificate Program with a University Transfer Option offers a multitude of advantages. This program not only equips students with the critical skills and expertise required for a successful career in radiography but also opens doors to further academic pursuits. Graduates not only become certified radiologic technologists, ready to excel in the healthcare industry, but also have the opportunity to seamlessly transition to a four-year university.

This transfer option ensures that students can continue their education, pursue advanced degrees in healthcare, medical imaging, or related fields, and position themselves for leadership roles in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.

 

Students who want to pursue a career as a radiographer should complete the Associate in Arts (AA) degree.  The AA degree can be used to meet the requirements for the Radiography Certificate Program at UNC-Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). Students will need to complete the required prerequisite courses for the Radiography Certificate Program as part of their degree at ACC.  Students, while working with an ACC advisor, should reference the required courses when developing the student’s course schedule.  The required courses are as follows: BIO 111, BIO 163 –or- BIO 168 and BIO 169, MAT 171

  1. Once you become an ACC student, meet with an ACC Academic Advisor and discuss your long-term goals.
  2. Connect with the transfer institution of your choice, and familiarize yourself with their transfer requirements.
  3. Keep your grades up and make sure to use ACC's Transfer Guidebook to help you be successful.
