This course introduces students to the principles and practices of ecological landscaping and sustainable stormwater management. It covers the use of native plants, sustainable materials, and landscape designs that promote environmental health, biodiversity, and water conservation.
Students will explore the science behind stormwater runoff, the impacts of urbanization on local watersheds, and effective strategies for managing stormwater on residential, commercial, and public landscapes. Key topics include rain gardens, permeable paving, bioswales, and the integration of sustainable practices into landscape planning.
