CERTIFICATION EXAMS

Skills have become the global currency of the 21st century economies!

In a world where competition for jobs, pay increases, and academic success continues to increase, certifications offer hope because they are a credible, third-party assessment of one’s skill and knowledge for a given subject.

Some of the key benefits of certification include:

  • Validation of knowledge
  • Increased marketability
  • Increased earning power
  • Enhanced academic performance
  • Improved reputation
  • Enhanced credibility
  • Increased confidence
  • Respect from peers

EXAM PROCTORING

We are a Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC) and can proctor many exams, including:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)*
  • Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE)
  • Information Technology Specialist (ITS)*
  • IC3
  • And more!

*The IT Department purchases exam vouchers from time to time for specific topics. Ask which exams might be free for students and employees.

Schedule an Exam

ACC offers online exam proctoring. You will log in to a Zoom meeting and complete your exam via a virtual machine. Instructions will be provided by email after your confirmed sign-up.

Schedule

If you need accommodations for your exam, you will need to apply for approval from Certiport first and we will need to schedule your exam separately, not through the link above. To take a certification exam with accommodations, follow these steps:

  1. Apply for accommodations directly with Certiport as outlined at certiport.com/disabilities.
  2. Once you receive the confirmation of your approved accommodations, forward the confirmation email to this address certiport@access.alamancecc.edu.
  3. Next, schedule a time by clicking on the bottom below.

Many of our courses prepare students for highly recognized certification in the Information Technology industry.

The below courses are curriculum courses, meaning they count for college credit and you must enroll in an academic program (Associates Degree, Diploma, or Certificate) in order to take the class.

If you are interested in non-credit courses that do not require academic program enrollment, our Continuing Education programs offer technology focuses training courses.

Note: Voucher sales for Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) exams ended on June 30, 2021. If you have a voucher purchased before then, you can redeem it for an exam through June 30, 2022. Our mapping below will be updated soon to reflect alignment with Microsoft’s new exams.
